5 Best Breakfast Spots in Albuquerque

Personally, I think breakfast is the best meal of the day. This is especially true on a lazy weekend morning or when you’re on vacation and don’t have to rush off to work. So I’ve compiled a list of my favorite breakfast and brunch restaurants in Albuquerque to inspire your next leisurely morning meal. At each of these locally loved restaurants you’ll experience a breakfast that represents the colorful culture of Albuquerque in it’s own way.

Breakfast dish at The Grove Cafe

1. The Grove Cafe for an elevated classic brunch

The Grove is a long-time Albuquerque favorite. The environment is casual, yet elevated. You’ll place your order at the counter and seat yourself, but the menu includes a variety of mimosas and re-imagined breakfast and lunch favorites. Don’t be daunted if the line is out the door. It’s just that good, and it usually moves quickly.

2. Campo for breakfast with a fine-dining ambiance

To eat in the restaurant, you’ll need to plan ahead and make a reservation. But the stunning Los Poblanos property is worth the extra planning. Their menu changes with the season and has a heavy emphasis on locally grown ingredients. If you can’t manage a reservation at the restaurant, you can still visit the property for a coffee and a freshly baked pastry from their on-site farm shop.

3. The Farmacy

for creative

comfort-food

The Farmacy is our families go-to on weekends. It has a casual cozy vibe, nothing fancy just really good food. Even though we go all the time, I have a hard time placing my order because I’ve had just about everything on the menu and I love it all. Pro tip- get an order of the kids waffle sticks (pictured) for the table to share.

4. Java Joe’s for huevos rancheros and house-roasted coffee

Of all the places on this list, Java Joe’s is the one that I’d describe as a “hole in the wall.” It might not look like much, but their food is great! Their New Mexican breakfast dishes are especially delicious- this is the place to try the huevos rancheros, or the breakfast enchiladas! They also have really great coffee that they roast themselves!

5. The Range Cafe for New Mexican diner dishes

The Range offers classic diner comfort food with a New Mexican twist. They have a big menu with something for everyone. Their portions are big too.
